Design and build a person powered, corrugated cardboard sled capable of withstanding the decent down our steep sled run.  How creative can you be using only corrugated cardboard as a building material? There are awards for the winners of each age bracket, along with best design, and team spirit. Come join the fun!

Registration & Race Times
$10/sled - Pre-Register online at Denisonrec.com
$15/sled – Day of Registration
Day of Registration: @ 9:30am
Races begin approximately: 10:00am
(Saturday, January 18th will serve as our backup date due to lack of snow, blizzard, or extreme sub-zero temperatures)

 
Awards
“Snow”-boat Award – Most attractive or spectacular looking sled.
Spirit Award – Most spirited and/or best organized team. (Costumes may help.)
 
Rules For All Sleds (See Rules File)
Safety and fun are our objectives. Competition is secondary. For safety, you have to follow these rules. For fun, you need to follow them with a smile on your face and remember that this is an event organized and ran by individuals who work very hard to ensure everyone has a safe and fun time.

Race Categories
3-7 year old
8-11 year old
12-18 year old
Adults Only
Family
(Teams will compete in the age bracket of the oldest team member.)
(Max of 3 participants per sled)

Procedures



  • Two or more sleds race in each heat. The winner of each heat goes back to the starting line for elimination heats after all sleds in the category have run their first heat. We will not have timed heats.

  • “Snow”-boat Award will be judged prior to the first race of the day.

  • All awards will be presented at the conclusion of all races.

    • Awards will be given to the champion and runner-up for each category.
